Hi! I am so excited to welcome you to my world. Let me tell you a little bit about myself. A gym rat from a very young age, I loved the feeling of being strong. Lifting weights, playing racquetball, gymnastics and just being active made me feel alive. While I was raising my two young children as a single mom, a back injury took the wind out of my sail. I was never one to sit still, but with this injury it was severe, and made daily life extremely difficult. Even after several MRI’s, wearing a back brace, 5 epidural injections, acupuncture, and physical therapy, I was still in debilitating pain. I could only walk a few minutes without having to sit down.
After consulting with several doctors who suggested surgery, I knew in my heart there had to be another way. So I did my research and worked with a doctor on strengthening my core, which is the great back protector. I switched to an anti- inflammatory diet and workout regimen, and as a result, the pain went away over time without any surgery required! I fell in love with the results I was getting and realized the importance of food and proper form while exercising. With this new found knowledge, I wanted to help others who were in pain, wanting to lose weight, or wanting to get stronger. This was my reason for becoming a personal trainer.
Competitions
After completing my certifications and training for several years. I decided I wanted to challenge myself to get out of my comfort zone. At 52 years young, I completed my first bikini competition. The 12 week program was one of the most challenging things I’ve ever accomplished not only physically, but mentally as well. The rush I felt on stage with my family and friends cheering me on was a big adrenaline rush and I knew that feeling of satisfaction for my hard work and dedication was all worth it.
