About 4 years ago I started training with Denise and it was one of the best decisions I ever made. Her contagious positivity, encouragement, and determination have helped me chase not only my goals in the gym but also formulate aspirations on the outside. Mary - Age 72
Before my retirement, I was a sheet metal worker and considered myself in good shape. I enjoy gardening and doing yard work and I consider myself very handy ( changing tires, hanging ceiling fans) etc.. Slim for most of my life, give or take a couple pregnancies…and then the OMG moment: I’d gained weight that I needed to lose. Coming from a family with a history of obesity, it was always a concern of mine. However, life happens. My gradual weight gain began when I hit 45 and moved twice. Stress-eating and complacency set in. I quit a steady workout routine and the next thing I know it’s the beginning of a new year and I’m turning 55. We recently moved to Florida in preparation for retirement and were enjoying our new lifestyle when my husband took a picture

Do yourself a huge favor and train with Denise. She’s a real pro and she gets you real results! I’ve worked with trainers in the past years and while they were somewhat helpful, the results didn’t justify the cost.
As a result I worked out on my own. I did the same things, week after week, with no real improvement or change. After two knee replacements and a couple of medical procedures, I was left with tight hip flexors and an unsteady gait, leading to weight gain and low energy. Then I met Denise, and everything changed. Under her guidance, my hip flexors have loosened up, my gait is steady and balanced and I have no more problems climbing stairs. They say a journey of 1000 miles begins with a single step. I have always had some sort of running routine, but for the past two years, my running was not as effective as it had been. I started gradually gaining weight, and when my clothes no longer fit, I knew something had to change, and it had to be real.
I started going to the gym and I signed up for a personal trainer for the first time and met Denise. She helped me understand the importance of strength training. She taught me that strength training helps burn more calories all day long than cardio alone.
So in addition to cardio, I needed to incorporate strength training into my workout routine. Denise developed a workout plan, and taught me proper form & technique. She also helped me to understand how my eating habits affected my weight loss goals.
I cautiously begin this new experience, not really knowing what to expect. However, as I developed new habits with my workout, my thought process and my food, I started to realize something amazing: my body enjoy this experience! My muscles were becoming defined, my skin clearer, I was sleeping better, and the scale was moving! Denise pushing me to go a little further at each workout was a huge motivation. I also discovered an inner strength that I didn’t realize I had.
I am happier, healthier and more energetic. I realized it is not a race to a finish line, but a journey to being healthy. Somewhere along the way I realized I will always be on that journey toward a healthy me. I also realized that I am in competition with no one. I am eager to continue this journey toward health, one step at a time, for a 1000 miles and more.
